Lobbyist Ron Smith was arrested in December under suspicion that he broke into his ex-wife’s home in September, left chicken pieces to rot in her air ducts, poured bleach into her piano and marred new hardwood floors with track cleats. The district attorney’s office bumped up charges against Smith from a class 4 felony burglary to a class 3 felony burglary and added criminal mischief to the charges.
